Poker Sunglasses – Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott

Poker great, David ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott, born 4 April 1954, hails from Hull in the United Kingdom. He is a world-renowned professional gambler and poker player who is undoubtedly one of the best British players ever. Ulliott was always well known but when he became a World Series of Poker bracelet winner, he became somewhat of a permanent fixture of televised poker. At the poker table, his standard attire comprises a suit or leather jacket, Royal poker sunglasses, and gold rings, which he made himself. They read “Devil” and “Fish”.

Ulliot is one of the most recognisable and feared faces in poker, and is also one of the most victorious. He began his career by playing cards with his friends in grade school and continued playing games for cash. He got a job making shields and eventually defeated all of his colleagues at Five Card draw. His frequent wins made it difficult for him to find willing opponents in England, so he eventually moved to Las Vegas in 1996, and started playing in tournaments.

Ulliot has won a staggering number of major tournaments and has become a poker legend. His strength lies in the game Texas hold ‘em, but he is also regarded as one of the best Pot Limit Omaha players ever, with over 40 finishes in the money in that type of tournament. While Ulliot has been banned from most betting parlours in England, he is still a regular player in tournaments and he can also be found playing online at Devilfish Poker.

Ulliot is married with seven children and owns a jewellery business in England. With his calm, yet threatening presence, and his poker sunglasses hiding his eyes, Dave “The Devilfish” Ulliott will continue to grace the poker tables and live up to his nickname by eliminating his opponents with his unpredictable style of play.
